“And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s Business?” Luke 2:49 (NKJV)
It is extremely imperative that we as Genuine Christian believers have a Clear Understanding of the Concept of Fatherhood because that is the key factor which determines the very Essence of Life itself. It is rather pathetic and sad to note that there is an emergence of a generation of bastards who regularly threaten to undermine our very own source on a daily basis, thereby subsequently invoking a curse upon the Earth (Mal. 4:5-6). Fathers are the foundation of families and the Holy Bible still asks this timeless rhetorical question: “If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the Righteous do?” (Ps. 11:3).
There are Three Different Types or Classes of Fathers, each of whom has a particular jurisdiction as well as a specific kind of value attached to his paternal role. Let us carefully examine them a bit further for a more comprehensive grasp of this matter:
(1.) OUR HEAVENLY FATHER: This refers exclusively to the Lord God Almighty Himself. There are Two Primary Dimensions to the Fatherhood of God:
(a.) He is the Father of all Creation (Gen. 1:1-31): As revealed through His Name “Elohim,” this refers to His Role as the Ultimate Source and Sustainer of all the Works of His Hands.
(b.) He is the Father of all those who have been Redeemed in Christ Jesus (Jn. 20:17): This focuses on His Role as Jehovah, the Father of all Genuine Christian believers.
(2.) OUR BIOLOGICAL FATHERS: This refers to our natural progenitors or those men from whose natural genes we obtain our DNA or individual identity (Eph. 6:2-3): No matter how distinguished you think yourself to be, your natural father is worthy of your Reverence because his own blessings are just as Powerful as the Blessings of our Heavenly Father Himself.
(3.) OUR SPIRITUAL FATHERS: This refers exclusively to the men of God who have been called and used by Him to shape and chart the course of our various destines (1 Cor. 4:15-17). Your Spiritual father is the sole custodian and carrier of your Patriarchal Blessing and your Spiritual inheritance. Never forget this wise saying: “TEACHERS may provide KNOWLEDGE, TRAINERS may provide SKILL, COACHES may provide DISCIPLINE, MENTORS may provide a LIFESTYLE but only FATHERS can provide LIFE.” The Lord God Almighty Himself grant us Understanding of the importance of Fatherhood by His Spirit.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we glorify You alone as our Source and Sustainer. O Lord, please help us to comprehend and properly honour all of our fathers in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
