DOMINION MANDATE DAILY DEVOTIONAL:”THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE OF THE LORD JESUS”

Date:

FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2026

BIBLE READING: JOHN 1:1-14; HEBREWS 2:16-18; PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11; PSALM 40:6-8

“And without controversy, great is the Mystery of Godliness: God was manifested in the Flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by Angels, Preached unto the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in Glory.” 1 Timothy 3:16(NKJV)

As we solemnly commemorate the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ this week with special emphasis on today being Good Friday, we need to understand what exactly makes this particular Friday “good.” The good thing about today in the entirety of the Christian world is the Truth of the claims of Justice being satisfied by the Willing Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus upon Calvary whereby He declared that “It is finished…” (Jn. 19:30).

The aforementioned phrase originates from the Greek word “Tetelestai” which literally means “paid in full” speaking of the Ultimate Price Jesus paid upon the Old Rugged Cross for our Total Redemption. This requires a Deeper Understanding of the Incarnation Principle which states that God Himself became Man in order to redeem fallen man (Heb. 10:5-7).

The Lord Jesus Christ, although Self-Existent since before the Beginning of Time as well as being Co-Eternal and Co-Equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, was born on the Earth and dwelt among men: “But when the fullness of the Time was come, GOD SENT FORTH HIS SON, BORN OF A WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE LAW, TO REDEEM THOSE WHO WERE UNDER THE LAW, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Gal. 4: 4-5). This way, Jesus by Personal Merit was qualified to personally experience everything we experience as mankind, being tempted by the world and satan (Heb. 4:14-15).

After overcoming them all, He now sits at the Right Hand of God advocating for us because He fully understands our pain. Simply put, Jesus had to take on the Form of a human being which is basically what the Incarnation Principle is all about (Phil. 2:5-11). In the above Scripture, the phrase “but made Himself of no reputation…” is directly translated from the Greek term “kenosis” which literally means “self emptying” (vs 7). The incarnation of Jesus Christ is so Important as it reveals the Depth of the Father’s Love for mankind (Jn. 3:16). He knew that the Solution to the problem of mankind was neither the blood of man nor of animals.

He required a Higher Sacrifice – the Blood of One Who was far More Supreme and of course God Himself is the Highest, hence the Sacrifice could only have been made by One exactly like Him (1 Tim. 2:5-6). The Lord God Almighty Himself looked and when He couldn’t find another, He took his Own Son, Jesus Christ Who is the Replica of the Father (God Himself) and stuffed Him in a Human Package to make the Ultimate Sacrifice: ‘His Very Own Life.”

Practising the Incarnation Principle helps to instill within us the Spirit of Empathy, causing us to leave our comfort zone and identify with others in their sufferings just like Christ Jesus Himself did. He came in the Form of Man and lived our everyday life but remained a Righteous Example, our Model for living the Victorious Christian Life (1 Pet. 2:21). Everything single thing that we felt bodily, He also felt yet remained Righteous and without sin. He has revealed to us that we too can live victoriously even in the world with all of its attractions and distractions.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we exalt You for loving us unconditionally so much that You sent Jesus Your Only Begotten Son to lay down His Life for us. O Lord, please enable us to live our lives pleasing You. We receive the Grace to live the Victorious Christian Life in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
