BIBLE READING: GALATIANS 2:19-21; ROMANS 6:1-23; COLOSSIANS 3:3-5; JOHN 12:24-26
“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24 (NKJV)
We often hear people say that the Christian Life is a difficult one to live. Well, the Truth is that it is much more than difficult; in fact, the Christian Life is an impossible one to live. That is because it is a Life that cannot be lived by the ability of man and those who see it as difficult are those who are yet to recognize that the Only Guaranteed Pathway to a Victorious Christian Life is through the Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection Power of our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:11).
This is the Only Way and Order through which a Genuine Christian believer can successfully live a Life that is pleasing to the Lord God Almighty and be victorious over sin, darkness and every other works of the devil. It is called the Crucified Life. It is activated by exchanging our lives for the Life of Christ lived out by the Holy Spirit Who we received when we gave our lives to Christ (Gal. 2:20). In other words, the Authentic Christian Life is not a CHANGED Life but rather an EXCHANGED Life.
The Crucified Life is a Life derived from the Old Rugged Cross of Jesus Christ. There is no life outside of His Death and Resurrection. That is why pleasing God becomes impossible on our own. Christianity is not a set of beliefs and practices or mere followership of a Deity. If we were to practice God’s Laws, we would fail woefully before we even start because the Holy Bible tells us that it is “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit…” (Zech. 4:6). This is the Conclusion of the Whole Matter.
Let us examine some of the Primary Keys to practically living the Crucified Life:
1. ACKNOWLEDGING HIS DEATH DAILY: We must daily acknowledge death to ourselves because self is the greatest barrier to living the Crucified Life (1 Cor. 15:31, Lk. 9:23).
2. THE GRACE OF GOD: One of the Major Purposes of Grace is to enable us to do Supernatural Things that we cannot do on our own. Of a Truth, we know that there is nothing more Supernatural than living the God Kind of Life (Tit. 2:11-12).
3. THROUGH DAILY FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS: This happens whenever we pursue a daily Intimate Knowledge of God. When we engage in daily Intimate Fellowship with Him, we are exposed more and more to the Crucified Life (Phil. 3:9-10).
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, to You alone do we ascribe all the Adoration for the Sacrifice of Your Son Jesus on the Cross. O Lord, please open our eyes fully to the Revelation of the Crucified Life in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
