BIBLE READING: LUKE 18:1-10; EPHESIANS 6:18; 1 TIMOTHY 2:1-8
“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the Way of the Lord, to do Justice and Judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.” Genesis 18:19(KJV)
There is an ancient yet timely saying which goes thus: “The family that prays together stays together.” In the same way mortar is used to hold bricks together, even so, Prayers are used to hold every Godly Marriage and Family together.
The Family Institution has always been besieged by the enemy from time immemorial, but a heightened assault is been orchestrated by satan himself in these End Times with all of his most efficient subordinates Based on our Key Scriptural Text, the Lord expressed His Confidence in Abraham’s capacity to command or guide his entire household in the Ways of the Lord, something that is impossible without raising a Family Prayer Altar.
The Seven Mountains of Society that have been corrupted through negative media, education spiked with atheistic philosophies, legislations, and bills by the governments of nations are being used to severely undermine the Family Structure and gender identification (1Jn. 5:19).
The alarming rate of divorce and single parenthood is absolutely shocking, even amongst some in the Church. Due to the Position of the Family as God’s Primary Strategy for the exercise of Dominion, our adversary knows that if he can only succeed in distorting God’s Intent and Purpose for the Family, His Ultimate Agenda would inevitably suffer a major setback.
The devil is waging a war with man because of God’s Mandate for him, a Dominion Mandate which was designed to be fulfilled through the Family System. You can rest assured that satan would do everything within his power to ensure that Christian believers win everywhere in the Marketplace but fail in the Family because man’s failure in the latter is detrimental to God’s Agenda.
Any setback in business is far more bearable than a setback in Marriage and Family. Only Strong Marriages end up producing Strong Families and, in turn, raise Godly children who can confront the satanic onslaught against Marriage and Family (Mal. 2:15).
Prayer does not just glue and hold the Family together as an Adhesive, but it is also the Shield that protects us defensively as well as the Missile that destroys all the schemes of darkness offensively.
The Lord Jesus in the Gospels and Apostle Paul in his Epistles laid a lot of emphasis on the importance of Prayers in the life of the man hence “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Lk. 18:1b). Men are fainting everywhere regularly, especially on the Family Front, because most of them have abandoned the Prayer Mandate laid on them to the women. Men must, as a matter of urgency, lift up their Holy hands to recover their Mandate, their Marriages, and their Ministries.
Every single broken Family is a feather in the cap of the devil. Praying FOR the Family and praying WITH the Family is meant to be a collaborative effort between both spouses and should no longer be left in the hands of the women alone. Without men watching with Vigilance and Perseverance, the serpent is bound to slither into our Family Garden (Gen. 2:15). We need to know how to be the gatekeepers of our families so as to demobilise the serpent the same way the Lord God Almighty Himself did at the Very Beginning.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we exalt You for Who You Are and for what You do. O Lord, please enable us as Godly Christian parents to always keep our Family Altars aflame in the Place of Prayer in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
