The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Ebonyi State at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON, weekend launched a comprehensive empowerment program valued at over N380 million to support Education and Agriculture in his constituency.
The breakdown of the financial commitment included N76 million for WAEC candidates, N41 million for NECO candidates, N5 million for JAMB candidates, and N91.6 million for scholarships. He added that a total of N180 million was allocated to fertilizer distribution and other agricultural support programs powered by his administration.
The program was unveiled at Blessed Martins College of Nursing Science, Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Ogah said the initiative was designed to boost education, strengthen the agricultural sector, and uplift youth development as well as scholarships for 300 deserving youths.
Additionally, 5,000 bags of fertilizers and rice seedlings were distributed to farmers, and 200 orphans were enrolled back in school.“When our farmers succeed, our people eat. When our youth learn, our communities grow stronger,” Ogah stated.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for progress made in two years in office, and praised Governor Francis Nwifuru’s leadership in Ebonyi State.
Ogah also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, who officially launched the program.Mrs. Nwifuru, a farmer and rural development advocate, lauded Ogah’s efforts and encouraged beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity.
“To our farmers: use these inputs to boost your harvests. To our students: see these scholarships as ladders to greatness. My foundation stands ready to continue supporting you,” she said.The event drew key political and traditional figures, including APC State Chairman Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha and Senator Emmanuel Onwe, who praised Ogah’s steadfast commitment. Traditional leaders present noted that the program went beyond handouts, fostering peace and stability in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chidindu Okoro expressed appreciation to Ogah, describing the event as an annual tradition that brings hope and marks a fresh start for many households in the constituency.
